Ugly Runners

Ugly Runners is an inclusive, friendly running club. It was created to promote fresh air, exercise and community with the belief that these three elements are extremely beneficial for our physical and mental health.

Ugly Runners places focus on mental health. In a world of filters, good angles and perfect lighting, we are inundated with skewed images of reality. We recognise that life - and runs - can both get Ugly. Owning that and being authentic can help to dilute some of the pressures and false expectations from an overly edited reality we are often faced with. Whether you hate running or love running, I think it is safe to say no one is immune from an ugly run. If you can hold your hands up to that, then we would love to meet you!

Whether you are a complete beginner or a seasoned runner, you are more than welcome to join our club. At Ugly Runners we recognise that success comes in many different forms and we celebrate all abilities. Be it running your first 2K, a marathon, recovering from injury, or going for a jog with the dog, we'd love you to join us and run ugly. We recognise and celebrate the many strands of running and move away from simplistic and single-focused measures of achievement.
